The McKern Foundation is proud to welcome Fosterville Gold Mine as a Fresh Fruit Friday partner, helping bring fresh fruit to even more local students each week.

Through the partnership, Fresh Fruit Friday has expanded to include Axedale Primary School, Goornong Primary School and Eppalock Primary School, giving hundreds more students access to fresh, healthy fruit during the school week.

Now in its 11th year, Fresh Fruit Friday delivers more than 1,000 kilograms of fresh fruit every week to schools across the Bendigo region, encouraging healthy eating habits and ensuring students have access to nutritious snacks while they’re learning.

Fosterville Gold Mine Community Advisor Leigh Byrne said supporting the program was an easy decision.

“We know that small initiatives can have a lasting impact on local communities. Fresh Fruit Friday is a fantastic program that supports the health and wellbeing of local students, and we’re proud to partner with the McKern Foundation to help bring it to more schools.”

The McKern Foundation thanks Fosterville Gold Mine for supporting this important initiative and helping make healthy choices more accessible for local students.
