McKern Steel has been supplying steel free of charge to the Charity Home Auction since its inception 30 years ago. This year, we were once again proud to support this fantastic cause.
The 2024 Good Friday Appeal Charity Home Auction was a record-breaking success, raising an incredible $1,110,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Located in Tarneit. the auction saw a stunning Henley Home sell for the record-breaking price to proud new owners Mohish and Sonam – they said they knew at the first inspection this would be their home.
The home was built by Henley Homes alongside Villawood Properties, with over 100 tradies and suppliers who donated their time or services free of charge.
The proceeds from the auction go towards improving the health of Royal Children’s Hospital patients. McKern Steel is proud to have played a role in helping to raise over $20 million for the Royal Children’s Hospital since 1993. It’s hard to believe the very first house Henley built for this charity in 1993 sold for $136,500!

The Good Friday Appeal is one of Australia’s largest fundraising events. It is held every year on Good Friday and raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital. The Royal Children’s Hospital is a world-class paediatric care facility that provides treatment for sick and injured children from all over Victoria.
